The Hull and East Riding Karate Academy
Presentation Evening 2013

The Gardener’s Country Inn at Coniston was again the venue for this year’s Hull & East Riding Karate Academy’s 2013 Presentation Evening. This was another memorable night with awards being presented to all those students who achieved so much success and improved so much over the past 12 months.
Many thanks to Sensei Malcom Adjei who presented the awards this year.

Massive congratulations to 10yr old Amy White who won the Silver medal for individual kata in her first International competition in Holland on the 5th October.
She then went on to compete in her second International competition in Poland where she won another Silver medal for Individual kata on the 15th October.

What a BRILLIANT weekend at Primrose Valley to celebrate 25 years of SHINDO KAI Karate Association, Great training, great fancy dress and great weather. The kids loved it, the adults loved it, EVERYBODY had such a great time with the "SHINDOKAI FAMILY OF FRIENDS".
Thanks to everybody in Shindo kai for making it such a great weekend.

English National Championships

Well Done to the 7 squad members who competed in the English Championships in Sheffield. Jordan Taylor did extremely well to take Bronze in Individual Kata whilst Emma Waudby took the Bronze Medal in her Team Fighting.
Naomi Pedder took Silver in Team Fighting and Team Kata, Lynsey Eggleton took Silver in Team Fighting and Team Kata and Courtney Pedder took Silver in Team Kata.
The three girls not only won Silver for Team Kata but they also performed the Academy's first ever Bunkai in order to take the Silver Medal. Morgan Clarke and Ben Harrison also competed to a very high standard but unfortunately missed out on medal placings.

I would like to say WELL DONE and CONGRATULATIONS to the 30 students who made the trip to Barnsley to compete in the SHINDOKAI JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. EVERYBODY and I really do mean everybody performed BRILLIANTLY.
By the end of the day we had won a total of 9 Individual GOLD medals, 6 Individual SILVER medals, and 9 Individual BRONZE, plus 3 teams winning GOLD medals, 5 teams winning SILVER medals and 2 teams winning BRONZE medals. Which once again put us top of the medal table.
I am sorry i didn’t get to see everybody compete as had to referee but i would like to thank Jordan Taylor, Naomi Pedder and Courtney Pedder for helping with the coaching

Well done everybody, it is not easy winning medals at this level of competition so you have all done brilliant especially as many of you had over 35 competitors in your sections, and as many as 94 in Joel’s fighting section split over 3 areas.
